Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) Sets up Technical Group for Organic Products and GAP Certification

Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Certification and Organic Products Certification are two certification systems established and promoted by China in conformity with international practices, and they have become a key part in food and agricultural products certification in China. The CNCA decided few days ago to set up a working group for organic products and GAP certification with a technical group sub-set. The technical group is mainly responsible for the tracking and research of standards, laws and regulations related to the certification of GAP and organic products in the world, and participating in relevant international technical communication events; working on technical solutions to problems in GAP and organic products certification, providing technical data for relevant supervision organization to make policy; undertaking the maintenance and technical support for relevant standards, regulations and rules for GAP and organic products certification; undertaking technical support for world recognition of China’s GAP and organic products certification; undertaking the technical training and promotion for GAP and organic products certification, etc. China Certification and Accreditation Institute has been entrusted to conduct the daily work of the working group.
