The article titled “Research on Combining Use of Solid Phase Extraction, Gas Chromatogram and Hyphenated Mass Spectrometry Methods in Testing the Residue of Cumyluron in Vegetables and Its Breaking Mechanism” by Fujian Fairreach Food Safety Testing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Fairreach) - a subsidiary of CCIC Fujian Company won the second prize in Excellent Essay Appraisal of Technology Innovation Award of Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST).
From November 11 to November 13, the Sixth Annual Meeting of Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology and the Fifth East-West Food Summit Forum was held in Beijing. Based on the platform of “Peer Review”, the prize-awarding ceremony of the Excellent Essay Award, part of the Second Technology Innovation Award of CIFST, which is also the most important award of food technology world in 2009, was held there too. The Technology Innovation Award of CIFST is the state first-class institute award approved by Ministry of Science and Technology and National Office for Science & technology Awards, and Science & Technology Award of China’s food world, and the Excellent Essay Award is one of the four specialized awards of it. In addition, CIFST and IFT analyzed, summarized and out-looked the situation of the world food industry on the meeting. The consensus was reached on the meeting that technology has become ever more important to the development of food industry, and food safety has ranked No. 1 among the five challenges faced by China’s food industry in the new round of development.
